Laser Cut Metal Pendant: Fire Lily by Amichai Oron
Amichai Oron runs a small boutique studio, and here are these stunning laser-cut spheres of swirling flowers. In fact, while giving the appearance of freeform design, the spheres are first made from a precise two-dimensional shape of mathematical precision cut out of a flat sheet by a laser manufacturing process. Only after the “arms” of the sheet have folded together to the finished spherical shape, the flowers take on an organic formation of random energy. The flowers removed from their 2D format become a composition that appears so unplanned that the human eye, no matter how hard it tries, can not find out the original geometry.
When all traces of natural light have disappeared from the sky, the Fire Lily Luminaire really does provide a sense of fire while the inner bulb glows against its metallic cage.
The turquoise fire lily has an ethereal quality and how stunning would this lamp look in a seaside decor?
The yellow fire lily is the perfect modern accent piece to hang over a pair on bedside tables. The shadow effects on the ceiling would create art high above the bed and the yellow splashes of color during the day would be a fun addition to any room.
In today’s kitchens filled with stainless steel appliances, light woods, and white countertops, the cream-colored version of the fire lily would be an artistic statement of subtle patterns over a counter in a series of 3.
The red flower ball reminds me of an autumn breeze, swirling flowers and leaves on my garden path. I imagine that in my entrance.
Orion tries to combine order and chaos, logic and emotion in his designs and the randomness of these precise geometric designs does just that.
