Step 1: Make the wool balls

Cut two circles out of the box seven centimeters wide. At a distance of 2 cm from the edge to the inside cut out an opening. Cut 6 cm from the cotton. Tie the two circles with it. Wrap the cotton around them. Keep going until the center of the sphere is practically almost tightly closed.

Step 2: Form the balls with the scissors

Now take a sharp pair of scissors. Cut out the protruding ends of the cotton so that it looks even like a cuddly ball.

Step 3: Attach the wire to hang

Separate the two circles slightly and pull a longer wire through them. Wrap the wire around the center of the pompom. One end must be long enough for you to attach it to the main structure of the mobile afterwards.

Cut out the two pieces of wood and paint them in the desired color. As mentioned before, mobile-tinkering for babies especially white and black are recommended. Make a 3mm hole on both ends of the wooden poles.

Bring the two wooden poles together so that they form a cross. At the interface you drill a hole. Decide how far down each wool ball should hang. We recommend a height of about 22 cm above the baby’s head. Bring the wire through the holes in the wooden poles. Hang the cotton balls.

Tinker mobile – individualization

The cotton balls can be nicely individualized. They can be executed in other colors. However, since the baby is best for a black and white mobile, we suggest these two colors. Individualize by making the cotton balls different interesting figures. Why do not you make them look like animals? For this you would only have to tinker with eyes, legs or other body parts with suitable aids.
