Small London apartment with an interior window that makes a big difference
This is an ordinary little apartment. The modern house with its few square meters offers an open, contemporary-style complex. Daniele Petteno Architecture Workshop made sure that this little London apartment did not have the same problem (or more of a disadvantage) than any other – lack of light.
In the living room, the two large windows provide plenty of natural light, but since the room is quite long, the kitchen on the opposite side would suffer if it did not have a window into the bedroom.
The bedroom has a single opening the same size as the living room windows, and that makes the black kitchen glow in bright daylight. It helps that the immaculate white bedroom walls reflect much of it and make both rooms so much brighter.
Interior windows often provide creative solutions that allow space to benefit from every possible aspect. The arrangement of kitchen and living area itself is also very interesting. On the long wall are small kitchen cabinets, in the smaller work and cooking plates are housed. The far end of the kitchen also serves as a TV wall for the living area, whose storage space forms a beautiful modern library.
With a seemingly simple detail, a long, spacious room continues and flows seamlessly into a more private area. Thanks to the curtains and blinds, residents can sleep soundly during the night and enjoy plenty of light in the morning.
