This classic smart kitchen is a dream come true
Happy owners of this classic kitchen are a large family of seven. Designed by Davies Design Build , it’s one of the most unique designs we’ve ever seen. Interior designer Kerri Brown was kind enough to give us her inspiration for the design, which, believe it or not, was more function-oriented, taking into account the number and type of family activities in the area.
Since parents have a lot to do, an intelligent ELAN Entertainment & Control system has been introduced to make things easier. The system allows full control over the lighting of the kitchen, audio, blinds, security and much more. It also offers a video feed that shows what kids are up to. With Greenline Home Solutions’ intelligent technology and technology integrator Luke Whatcott, the kitchen not only has all these features, it also looks impeccable when there’s not a single string in sight.
Before the smart technology, we had to work with several thermostats and light switches in the design process, but ELAN combines all of these features into an elegant touch panel that’s so much easier to work with, “says Brown.
The walnut-stained wooden ceiling is certainly the focus of this classically chic kitchen. Built specifically for the space, it promotes the feeling of grandeur in a highly functional space. Custom S & J in Designer White embodies sophistication, while teal “Watery” Sherman Williams kitchen islands are a nod to Mama’s favorite color. Silestone quartz, gray and white platinum countertops, as well as the Venetian plaster hood, blend well into the grandiose design. Finally, a million dollar baby tile adds a finishing touch to the picture. And with such a name, it’s no wonder it’s the most expensive tile in the house.
Lighting is another great feature in the kitchen. First of all, there is plenty of natural light from an adjoining dining room that sits next to a wall of windows. Then there are built-in ceiling lights that go into the cabinets and provide the room with general lighting. Two crystal chandeliers decorate and give the kitchen islands more light.
If you want to build a functional, smart kitchen, you do not have to rely on minimalist contemporary style. Here is an incredible example of how to combine homely and classic style with cutting-edge technology.
