Whimsical table lamp by Leanter: Giraffe inspired
Lamps are high on desks, so why not use the most visible of the largest animal on our planet as a table lamp? That’s exactly what Markus Oder von Leanter did when he created this bizarre table lamp – the Giffy. Instead of choosing a clear visual representation, Markus instead chose a bizarre approach that puts a smile on everyone’s lips. I know, I smile every time I look at these funny and colorful lamps.
The idea for the Giffy table lamp came to Markus after seeing a photo of giraffes next to acacia trees, surrounded by the colors of the sunset in the savannah in central Africa.
Mark has realized that there is no one better than nature when it comes to combining beauty and function.
Standing 45Hx17xWx34Lcm, the body is made of 18mm thick birch plywood to bring a little nature into the lamp.
The shade consists of 1.5 mm thick powder-coated aluminum in the colors pink, red, blue, yellow, orange, green or black.
The beautiful pattern on the body of a giraffe was reinterpreted as a cavity within the birch plywood and the 1.5 m long, color-coordinated fabric cover runs casually through them. A simple on / off switch is positioned on the chord where it would hit a tabletop.
Handmade and with a LED lamp, the table lamp is fun, functional and definitely beautiful. Candlesticks.
